Located near Healesville in Victoria's Yarra Valley, we are a blueberry winery with over 15 years of experience. Our family has cultivated blueberries for two generations, evolving from a 4-acre farm in Narbethong to the winery and cellar door we operate today.
Marc and Eva Besen founded TarraWarra Estate in 1979 as a family retreat. Inspired by Burgundy wines and guided by Dr. John Middleton, they planted Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in 1983. Today, the estate spans 400 hectares with 26 hectares of vines, a nature reserve, and a restaurant. Their vision, rooted in gratitude for Australia, continues to shape the estate's heritage and sense of place.
Yarra Yering is a historic vineyard in Victoria’s Yarra Valley, known for its scenic beauty and heritage. The Yarra Valley, known for its cool climate, excels in Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Sparkling wines. Arthurs Creek is situated on the valley's northern slopes at 400 meters elevation. Punt Road and Airlie Bank are integral to Yarra Valley's grape-growing history. In 1860, Swiss immigrant Hubert De Castella sourced vine cuttings from Airlie Bank vineyard on Melbourne’s Punt Road to plant 200 acres in Coldstream. These vines gained acclaim in Australia and Europe, eventually leading to the establishment of St Hubert’s and Punt Road vineyards.
Phil found his holy grail near Gruyere in the Sexton vineyard, which he planted in 1997 on the steep slopes of the Warramate Ranges. A mad jazz fan, Phil named the winery after John Coltrane’s album and fitting metaphor “Giant Steps.
